Dear patients,
Ontario has announced a new provincial Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination program for infants and high-risk children starting this 2024-2025 respiratory virus season. The vaccine is expected to arrive sometime in late October. We will provide an update on how to book appointments for those parents who are interested in vaccinating their child when that information is available.
Who qualifies? – Ontario residents:
- Born in 2024 prior to the RSV season
- Born during the 2024/25 RSV season (will be offered in hospital)
- High-risk children up to 24 months of age, with:
- Chronic lung disease of prematurity
- Significant congenital heart disease
- Severe immunodeficiency
- Down syndrome
- Cystic fibrosis
- Neuromuscular disease
